2021 ESA \u2013 Continuing Education Course
\nTitle: A Mini-Course in Experimental Economics (John A. List)

This course will provide a broad overview of lab and field experiments as used in social sciences, with a special attention in economics and it will have three parts. The first part of the course will situate the experimental approach as an assignment mechanism within the causal inference framework and its importance to establish causality. Also, I will cover the main issues involved when designing experiments. The second part of the course will go over the nuts and bolts of statistically analyzing the data gathered from experiments including instances that we commonly face in experiments such as non-compliance, missing data, multiple hypothesis testing, among others. The final part will focus on the appropriate interpretation of the results from the analyzed data including topics such as reliability, replication, generalizability and scaling.<\/p>\n
Prerequisite: read in advance book chapter assignments.<\/p>\n
Preference given to Graduate Students and Junior Faculty.\u00a0 Participation is limited and only available to those with paid registration to the ESA conference.<\/p>\n
